Dr. Dre's Son Funeral

Over 200 mourners turned out Friday for the funeral of Andre Young, Jr. -- the son of Grammy-winning rapper Dr. Dre.

The funeral took place in Glendale, Calif at The Church of the Recessional.

An autopsy was done last week, but it did not reveal the cause of death. Further tests have been ordered to try to discover the cause.

"We don't know yet why he died," the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner told People. "There were no signs of trauma or foul play. We'll be doing toxicology and other tests, which will take up to six weeks."

The test is "mainly to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a part in a person's death," Capt. Winter said.

Young had been out with friends the night prior, and his mother told police that "she recalled hearing him snoring around 5:30 a.m."

"Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son," the rapper's publicist Lori Earl said in a statement Tuesday. "Please respect his family's grief and privacy at this time."

Dr. Dre has four other children -- sons Curtis, 26, Marcel, 17, and Truth, 11, and daughter Truly, 7.

Hip Hop Rumor: Mos Def Spazzes On Photographer, Smashes Camera

NYC rapper, actor, and hymn chanter Mos Def was at the annual Magic Convention in Las Vegas this last weekend when he got into a bit of a skirmish with a photographer.

Word is that Mos HATES to have his picture taken without his permission, and as he was entering the building some unknown photog jumped out in front of him and got a good snap shot.

Well Mos didn’t take kindly to this and just wilded out on dude. Witnesses’ say he grabbed the guy’s camera, smashed it on the ground and then began stomping on it while continuing to curse out the paparazzo at the top of his lungs.

And I thought this guy was a peaceful vegan or something? People even say the chick Mos was with acted completely terrified and tried to calm him down but he wasn’t tryin to hear it. The cameraman has announced his plans to sue Mos and says his camera, unsurprisingly, is completely destroyed.

Mos has not issued any statement and in his typical weird, emo way I doubt he will as he is probably busy doing the rain dance on some old school hip hop school somewhere.

T.I. Speaks On Topping Billboards, New Movie, Tour

Rapper T.I. pronounced himself "ecstatic" and "overjoyed" after setting a record for the biggest jump to top of the chart with "Whatever You Like," the first single from his upcoming Grand Hustle/Atlantic album, "Paper Trail."

"Whatever You Like" moved from 71-1 in its third week on the survey, giving the Atlanta-based artist his first-ever chart-topper as a lead artist.

"I guess people like the song -- I hope that's what accounts for it," T.I. told Billboard.com Friday in Detroit, where he was making a pair of community service appearances to speak to local youth. It's part of 1,000 hours he's required to serve in conjunction with his 2007 federal weapons conviction. "I think it's a new sound for me, something people aren't necessarily used to hearing. It's one of those risky records. It just happened to work in our favor."

As to how this bodes for "Paper Trail," which comes out Sept. 30 and follows two previous No. 1 albums (2006's "King" and 2007's "T.I. vs. T.I.P."), T.I. cautioned, "I can't be overly optimistic. Sept. 30 is still on the way. I can't count numbers until they actually hit the paper, but I'm always optimistic when my albums are about to be released. I have very high expectations of myself, and very seldom do I meet them. But it's definitely off to a great start."

When "Paper Trail" rolls out, however, T.I. will be starting a new film, "Bone Deep," an action drama in which he's starring with Chris Brown, Matt Dillon, Jay Hernandez and others as "a group of young, fly, intelligent bank robbers." The film is slated to wrap in November, after which T.I. -- who faces a year in jail at some point on the weapons charge -- says he plans to tour to support the album.

"I'll be able to tour," he confirms, adding that he's currently "working on" an itinerary and plans for the production.

Can't wait for this album

Rapper Game Grows Up? Talks On Beefs/Dre, Doesn't Want Drama

Despite his recent digs at some rap rivals, The Game says he's trying to escape the drama. In this SOHH Exclusive the West Coast rapper reflects on past beefs, talks about channeling rap’s late greats on his new album, LAX, and sends condolences to one-time mentor Dr. Dre.

This week, The Game squashed his beef with New Jersey rapper Joe Budden by bringing him out at a show in New York City and acknowledging that he got into many unnecessary beefs during his time with G-Unit.

The Game said he’s learned from that experience and wouldn’t take back anything that he’s said or done in the past. This revelation comes shortly after he called out Jay-Z and threatened to "turn that Roc-A-Fella sign into a pee stain." But Game insists that what's in the past--distant and recent--is water under the bridge. “I don’t regret anything. You make mistakes. I just acknowledge them. The beefs that I had back in the day were beefs that I had. I understand them, I know them and I did what I did. No apologies, no regrets.”

“For the future [I’ll] just try to be a little bit more wiser. I was young and wild then,” he explained.

“I know that person and can go back to that person if need be but I’m focused right now. I’m on another level [with] my lyrical growth and my mind is free,” he said. “I got spaces in my head for other things outside of drama and bullshit.”

One song on LAX where Game got to demonstrate his newfound lyrical growth is “Never Can Say Goodbye.” There, he raps from the perspective of 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G. and Easy E just before their respective deaths.

“I came up with it one night in the studio and I didn’t know if I could pull it off,” he said. “I knew I had ‘Pac and the story of Easy that was sorta me being that I grew up and I come from the N.W.A cloth. The Biggie was tough to pull off but as I rolled through the middle of the verse it started to become fun and easy. It made for a dope song, a dope concept.”

Though his former mentor, Dr. Dre, didn’t produce any tracks on L.A.X., the Game insists that they’re still in contact. “Its not like I don’t talk to Dre. I talk to Dre every now and then,” he said.

The Game also took the time to send his condolences to the producer for the recent death of his 20-year-old son, Andre Young Jr.

“I met him once or twice but we wasn’t tight like that,” he said. “All I can do is pray and send my condolences and that’s it. I don’t know what to really say when people pass away except to keep the family in my prayers and send condolences.”

Chad Johnson Changes Last Name To Ocho Cinco

Maybe receiver Chad Johnson can go by the name that his head coach hates.

The Cincinnati Bengals receiver has legally changed his name to Chad Javon Ocho Cinco in Broward County, Fla., a switch that became official this week. Johnson, who lives in Miami, didn't return a message left on his cell phone Friday night.

"It's something I don't think anyone has ever done before," he told the team's Web site. "Have I ever had a reason for why I do what I do? I'm having fun."

Two years ago, Johnson gave himself the moniker -- a reference in Spanish to his No. 85 -- and put it on the back of his uniform before a game. Quarterback Carson Palmer ripped it off before the kickoff. After the season, coach Marvin Lewis -- who dislikes Johnson's attention-getting stunts -- referred to the receiver as "Ocho Psycho."

Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said the Bengals had no comment on the matter.

Johnson has been a concern for the Bengals this season. He unsuccessfully lobbied for a trade in the offseason, threatening to sit out if he didn't get his way. When the Bengals refused, he relented and showed up for minicamp, but complained that his right ankle was bothering him.

He had bone spurs removed from the ankle and was limited at the start of training camp. In the second preseason game, he landed awkwardly and temporarily dislocated his left shoulder. Johnson is wearing a harness and expects to play in the season opener against Baltimore.

Kid Rock To Perform At MTV Awards With Lil' Wayne

The Detroit News has reported that Kid Rock plans to perform his single "All Summer Long" at next week's MTV Video Music Awards. "I don't know if I was supposed to tell or not, but I don't give a fuck," Rock said. "If I was supposed to keep it a secret, they should have not told me."
MTV Awards have proven to be famous stages for unexpected collaborations and performances, including Guns N' Roses and Van Halen reunions, Nas courting Murder Inc. and Afeni Shakur and Violetta Wallace appearing together publicly for the first time.

UFC Fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson Pleads Not Guilty

Former UFC title-holder Quinton "Rampage" Jackson today entered a "not guilty" plea to charges stemming from a July hit-and-run and subsequent police chase in California.

Jackson's first arraignment, which was set for Aug. 15, was ultimately delayed so the Orange County District Attorney's office could continue its investigation.

Today in a Santa Ana, Calif. court room, Jackson issued his not guilty plea to two felony charges (evading while driving recklessly, and evading a peace officer and driving against traffic) as well as four misdemeanor counts.

He is accused of driving onto a curb on the 55 Freeway and sideswiping two vehicles, causing damage to both. Jackson also is accused of failing to stop after hitting the two cars and fleeing the accident scene. Police eventually apprehended the fighter in Newport Beach.

A pre-trial date was set for Oct. 9, and Jackson, who's expected to fight next at UFC 91 on Nov. 15, returns to court on Nov. 3 to learn if the matter will go to trial.

If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison.

UFC President Dana White spoke of his support of Jackson and said exhaustion was the contributing factor to his erratic behavior in July.

Crazy, check out his car after the chase (Watch arrest video here), he rode that bitch till the tire flew off, and still tried to get away after it came off haha. Read what happened previously if you havent already heard here.

Game Now WANT'S Beef With Jay-Z

With his new album, LAX, in stores this week SOHH sat down with The Game to talk first week sales predictions and to find out why he thinks “Jockin’ Jay-Z” was directed at him.

Despite efforts from his arch enemy’s website, Thisis50.com, to leak free downloads of his latest album LAX, The Game is confident his sales will still thrive. “My album being in stores makes me feel like a winner,” said The Game. “I’m excited. I sold 130,000 records on iTunes [Tuesday] morning. So that combined with the people in the streets, it’s probably going to be successful come next Tuesday, Wednesday.”

Though he is optimistic, the West Coast-based rapper says he isn’t too concerned about the first week sales numbers of his third and final album.

“Whatever the number comes out to be will make me happy,” he said. “I’m just happy to have another album in stores and still be co-existing in hip-hop with some of the best lyricists that ever lived.”

One of the lyricists that Game is referring to is Brooklyn-bred rapper Jay-Z. In recent months, The Game has been quite vocal in his desire to lure the rapper into a lyrical battle. On the LAX cut, “Dope Boys,” which features Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, Game taunts Jay by hijacking his hook for “Roc Boys (And The Winner is).”

“When I heard the, ‘Roc Boys in the building,’ I was like, well, I’m in Cali we do the dope thing. Everything is dope for us. So I came with ‘the Dope Boys in the building’ and then he comes with, ‘Jockin’ Jay-Z, I’m still dope boy fresh.”

Game thinks that this was an indirect diss. “Me and Jay I guess we trade subliminal hits every now and then,” he explained.

However, as SOHH previously reported, the Game had harsher, more blatant words for Jay just two weeks ago when he said, "If you f*ck with me I'll turn into a beast and rip your head off. I'll bust your lips and turn that Roc-A-Fella sign into a pee stain."

But despite those former threats, The Game maintains that his words won't carry over into real beef on the street. "You know, we poke fun, but it’s nothing too serious, he said. "It’s never going to be a fist fight or anything street or nothing real violent to come out of it.”

“If anything it’ll be a lyrical war which I’ll engage if he engages and if not then you’ll let it go away.”

This dude is really messed, first he wants beef, then no, then yes and no again, now he thinks Jay-Z dissed him.

Prodigy To Become a "Wiser MC" Upon Jail Release

Prodigy’s three year prison sentence on unlawful gun possession charges has not broken the Queensbridge rapper, who guarantees he’ll be a more focused MC upon his release.

In an interview with Prodigy he detailed how he’s been using his incarceration to sharpen his mental faculties and mentor fellow inmates, particularly young minorities.

“I’m just taking it easy, day by day serving my time like a man. Doing what I gotta do,” Prodigy revealed to AllHipHop.com. “I read books everyday. kick it with some of the younger inmates in here, passing books on to them. [We] pick each other’s brains.”

Prodigy, real name Albert Johnson, was sentenced to three years in prison last October in a plea bargain deal for his third gun possession charge.

In April, he released the highly anticipated H.N.I.C. Pt. 2, which featured lyrics heavily influenced by Prodigy’s belief in New World Order conspiracy theories such as the Illuminati.

Prodigy promises the fans a more focused Pee upon his scheduled 2011 release, as prison has allowed him to reflect on past mistakes and given him the opportunity to brainstorm potential collaborations, a comeback tour, a autobiography, and possible remixes to H.N.I.C. Pt. 2.

“When I get back out there in the real world it’s gonna be on,” Prodigy declared. “[I’m] much better, much wiser [than before the incarceration]. It’s going down, trust me.”

UPDATE: Suge Knight Arrest

Deathrow Records founder Suge Knight

was released on $19,000 bail last night (August 28) after being arrested for beating his girlfriend.

As reported earlier, police responded to a call about a car hitting a curb near the Las Vegas Strip on early Wednesday morning and they found Knight standing over his girlfriend with a knife in his hand.

According to The Associated Press, police claim that Knight’s attack on his girlfriend began in the car. The couple were in a heated argument and Knight began punching his unidentified girlfriend in the head.

During the attack, Knight's girlfriend would grab the steering wheel causing the car to veer off the road and into a curb. She would try to run away but Knight pursued her and continued to assault her.

“This is a very large man,” Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Chris Carroll told the AP. “He was on top of her, actually in the act of violently beating her when the officers arrived, with the knife in his hand.”

Knight's girlfriend was rushed to hospital for minor injuries.

Knight, 43, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and battery domestic violence.

Police say the drugs in Knight's possession were ecstasy and hydrocodone. The rap mogul will return to court on September 26th to face the charges.

Featured Artist - Lyriciss

This is the second featured artist out of the DMV, Lyriciss.
Show some love and check this dude out!

When asked what he brings to the table in a world where the hip-hop game is over saturated with bland, formulaic MCs, 20-year-old Washington DC/PG County, Maryland native Lyriciss answers, "A young black voice out of an unknown area (hip-hop wise) speaking on real-life issues with a lyrical focus. Nowadays, you speak to the majority of the other 20-year-old rappers from this area, no disrespect to them, but all they're going talk about is what cars they got and really don't got, how much money they have when they really don't have it, and how many females they get when they're really either bunned up with a joint or can't pull a female to save their life."

Born in the Riggs Park section of N.E. Washington, D.C., Lyriciss (ne' Robert Bailey) knows both sides of the fence, as he moved into Prince George's County's suburbs. While in elementary school at the age of 9, young Robert discovered his ability to rap, an art form of music he'd loved since a baby.

As he entered middle school, he began writing lyrics down, an act that would distract him from his work and constantly get him in trouble. These were also the years when Robert got into the battling scene at school, where it didn't take long to be known as the best freestyler in the school. He proceeded with the battles into high school, taking challengers at the schools he attended (Eleanor Roosevelt High and Parkdale High), then traveling to other schools for battles.

In 2004, Lyriciss met up with H-Tips and FCG Ent., prompting the beginning of his recording career. Now, at the age of 20, he's already developed the mind of a businessman, focusing on the growth and future of his career. While unsigned, he is strongly affiliated with H/H Global Ent. and FCG Ent.

With the recent surge of attention brought on to the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia) hip-hop scene, Lyriciss is asked if he feels any competition in the race to get signed. "None at all", he replies. "Why? Because one, I know where my skills are with the lyrics...I know it, the people that hear the music know it, and that's the end of that. Two, because anyone in this area trying to make it and have true love for the music, I show love to them and I consider them family.

So competition isn't even an issue to me. Hell, I'm not even worried about getting on, so much as getting my message heard. I have something to say, something that NEEDS to be heard. And when that happens, the world WILL listen."

Joe Budden Speaks On Squashing Beef With Game

Joe Budden and The Game finally made peace, and all it took was a phone call and a few text messages.

"I was asleep the other day, and I woke up to a text message saying, 'Big Joe, what up? This is Game,' " Budden said Wednesday (August 27). "I was like, 'Oh, somebody is playing on my phone again.' I hit him back with a bunch of question marks, and he hit me back with 'This is Game.' Still, I wasn't convinced yet. Then I started checking my messages, and apparently he was on [a New York radio] morning show and asking if anybody had my phone number and [said] he was trying to reach out to me. So I eventually called him. We had a great conversation, talked about a lot of things. He invited me to come to his show, come kick it. I took him up on it."

Joey Jump-Off jumped onstage with Game on Tuesday night at New York's Irving Plaza.

Budden and Game were embroiled in a back-and-forth on the mixtape circuit in the mid-2000s, but that was never quite settled — at least, not in the public's eyes.

"Me and Game never really had an issue," Budden said. "It was more so a Joe Budden vs. G-Unitthing — which, at the time, [Game] happened to be a part of. So, I mean, it wasn't anything personal between myself and him. And it was so many years ago, and I think we both grown and gotten past all of that verbal bashing. I thought [Tuesday night's show] was great for hip-hop."

Budden and Game even appeared in a photo together during the height of the lyrical tension, but continued to dis each other.

"The picture was more so to say, 'We'll dead the beef, but we don't necessarily need to care for one another.' The situation last night was totally different. He showed me a whole lot of love. Him and his people. It was altogether a great experience. I was standing there [during the show] like a fan. Dude brought out Dana Dane, Kool Herc, Maino, who is like family to me. Rae and Ghost. I think all these people, who I am all cool with, were shocked to see me. But the energy in the building was great."

"I think so," Budden said, unabashed. "I think it's great."

Despite the track's length, the Jersey native said the song didn't take particularly long to write.

"Not too long," he divulged. "When you're writing something you're passionate about it, it doesn't take long," he said. "Three hours total. That was just the writing process. No, I'm lying. It might have been just four to five hours. The recording process was a whole separate issue."

"The funny thing is, my memory is normally horrible," he laughed. "I have a hard time remembering anything. But I wanted to make a timeline where certain events in hip-hop would act as photographs. Even when I said, Master P and them ugly-ass album covers,' it wasn't to say anything negative about that. But I think everybody in hip-hop remembers when, every other week, Master P was putting out an album with those funny-looking covers. I wanted to bring people back to a certain place and jog my memory as much as I could without going overboard. Remaining unbiased."

Budden's next album, Padded Room, comes out on Amalgam Digital on October 28. He'll be releasing at least one mixtape prior and says that collaborating with Game on a song or freestyle is a strong possibility.

"It's likely," he said. "You can never say."

Again, this is a very good look for Game. L.A.X. in stores now.

Suge Knight Arrested On Assault of Girl Friend + Drug Charges

Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested earlier today (8/27) on assault and drug charges after he allegedly beat up his girlfriend while threatening her with a knife, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.

The incident took place at 6:40 a.m. on the Las Vegas strip. Police were called to the scene and found Suge standing over his girlfriend with a knife in his hand. Police spokesman, Jacinto Rivera, confirmed that "he did not stab her."

The identified victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She told police she has been Suge's girlfriend for the last three years.

Suge was arrested without incident and charged with a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and domestic violence. He was taken to Clark County Jail, where he will remain jail for a minimum of 12 hours due to the domestic violence charge.

Police found ecstasy and hydrocodone on Suge Knight at the time of his arrest.

His lawyers have yet to make a statement.

Thisis50 Posts Download Link Of New Game Album

WOW this is shameful, 50 Cent (who posted this) should get punched in the face. This grown man is still bitter about Game's success after G-Unit, and the fact that his album flopped... I really hope Game's album goes platinum just for this.

Game Brings Out Hip HopSupport To Taunt G-Unit

Game's first guest was a doozy: Joe Budden. Shortly after Game joined G-Unit, the two squared off lyrically for several months, and their disses toward each other were scathing. Their disses toward each other were scathing. Jump-Off Budden performed "Pump It Up" and his new underground classic "Who Killed Hip Hop."

Next were Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon and Ghostface Killah. Game at one point bowed in homage as Rae kicked a freestyle: "When my ni--as come down, they burning that crib down/ And you gettin' hit."

"Love you, ni--a," Rae told Game, and Ghost yelled out, "They set the stage on fire!"

Kool Herc stood on the sidelines among Game's Black Wall Street clan, who flooded the stage. The Compton MC called Herc out to the spotlight and bowed to him. The legendary DJ told Game that his favorite record was "Hate It or Love It."

"Always love, man," Herc said.

Fat Joe was the next to enter the big kids' playground with "Lean Back." They even let parts of jailed former Terror Squad member Remy Ma's verse play.

Game's putting on for the city didn't stop there. After Maino (busy night, huh?) held down the show with "Hi Hater," it was a reunion of booted G-Unit members who hadn't shared the stage in four years.

Young Buck arrived and immediately gave the star of the show an iced-out watch.

"I read on the Internet that you were broke," Game said to his pal.

"I'm a street n---a, we gets money for real," Buck responded.

Of course, the two had words for 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. (Who couldn't see that coming?) "Without me, they just a Unit," Buck rapped a cappella, implying that the clique was no longer gangsta.

Game took liberties with his own song "How We Do" soon after, bashing his former rap collective: "Took three years, kicked me and Buck out/ New York was like, ['Huh']?"

Later, Young Buck said he had no beef with Fat Joe.

Game gave the fans another taste of his L.A.X. LP with current single "My Life" and probable second single "Money," but he didn't perform his controversial track "Letter To The King"

Jim Jones was the last surprise of the night. He and Game did a piece of "Certified Gangsta." Jim took control for portions of "Love Me No More" and "Byrdgang Money." The Harlem Dipset Capo then handed the mic back to his Cali friend. The night's main attraction sent the fans home with "Game's Pain."

That's a good look for Game, I've gained a little respect back... jus a bit

Rakim To Release The Seventh Seal Album Soon

After a much hyped, yet failed stint with Dr. Dre and Aftermath, Rakim has found a new home. Although there was talk of Rakim planning to sign to Talib Kweli’s Blacksmith label some time ago, only one label can state that they have finally inked Rakim to a deal. Bay Area based SMC Recordings – home of Killer Mike, San Quinn, Mistah Fab, Pastor Troy and others - can now lay claim that the “God” emcee has officially signed with the label.

A release went out stating that “SMC Recordings signs the largest act in the history of the company,” as the signing sends a message to the many labels that have long been after the legendary emcee. What this signing also means is that the long awaited The Seventh Seal album will finally see the light of day – although it won’t be before the end of 2008.

The Seventh Seal is now slated for a Spring 2009 release. This will be Rakim’s first solo album since 1999’s The Master.

Trick Trick's Official Statement On Young Berg Beating "I Saved His Life"

Detroit rapper Trick Trick recently spoke on Yung Berg'sassault and robbery that took place in his nightclub this past weekend.

Yung Berg went to Trick Trick's Plan B Nightclub on Friday night (August 22) and was robbed and assaulted by a group of men who approached him over comments he had made about Detroit rappers.

The men stole Berg's jewelry including his "Transformer" chain. Berg was in town to perform at a local summer jam the following day but missed the event due to his injuries.

After news of Berg's attack surfaced, rumors began to circulate that Trick Trick orchestrated the attack.

Trick Trick revealed to Allhiphop Tuesday (August 26) that he knew the men involved in the attack but he had nothing to do with it. Trick Trick emphasized that he stopped the attack on Berg and blamed the rapper for appearing at the club without his knowledge.

“First of all I ain’t no jack n***a. I don’t need to jack nann [any] n***a to get what I gotta get,” Trick Trick explained. “Karma’s a motherf**ker so I’m not taking no n***a’s s**t. I earn mine. I don’t need that piece of s**t ass aluminum foil chain the b**ch had on no way.”

“My lil n***as got him. The label called and told me he wasn’t coming, so I wasn’t expecting him. So there was no need for me to tell the lil homies that ‘aye, the n***a’s straight,’ because he wasn’t coming,” Trick Trick continued. “I saved that n***a’s life. He would probably be dead right now or in a coma if I hadn’t ran over there and pushed the lil homies back so they could quit stomping this n***a.”

Despite trying to separate himself from the incident, Trick Trick went on to say that Berg brought the attack on himself

“You can’t be saying ‘fuck Trick Trick’ and you don’t like dark skin women,” Trick Trick said. “I was gonna school the little n***a to the ropes of the game! If you gonna take some notes, take notes from an OG. The lil homies got that trophy [the chain], I don’t want that s**t. I don’t have any problems with the little n***a. I [just] don’t like him.”

Yung Berg has yet to publicly speak on the incident.

Rumors of Young Berg Beating/Chain Robbery Are True

Rumors of rapper Yung Berg being robbed and assaulted in Detroit over the weekend, resulting in a scheduled performance being canceled just hours prior to the show are TRUE.

The rapper was in Detroit to headline local radio station Hot 102.7's Summer Jam on Saturday (August 23) -- which also included the likes of Mike Jones, Shawty Lo, and Mario -- but missed the performance, reportedly due to an altercation the night before at a local nightclub.

Berg made an appearance at the Plan B nightclub, where upon arrival he was he and an associate were attacked by a group of men allegedly affiliated with local rapper Trick Trick.

However, witnesses say that Trick was not involved in the scuffle and instead, helped break up the fight. Berg's Transformers chain was snatched during the fiasco though.

Following the fight, Berg's security rushed him out the door, and later took him to his hotel. He is said to have suffered minor cuts and bruises, which did not call for medical attention

So far, both Trick Trick and Yung Berg have yet to comment on the incident.

I also heard he got the woopin' the same hour he landed in Detroit

It's Hip Hop Featured Artist: Beyond Belief

Sup everyone here's the second It's Hip Hop's featured artist... Beyond Belief

Beyond Belief is a 20-year old emcee hailing from Rockaway, New York. With the help of Super-producer "Kwame" Beyond Belief has already made a name for himself. His first single "Don't Touch" has already been added to regular rotation on MusicChoice and many other radio stations. Even with Immediate comparisons to Eminem, Bubba Sparxxx, and even Vanilla Ice Beyond Belief (Bob) doesn't let this common stigma impact him in any way. “There’s no getting around the comparisons, but at the end of the day I let my music speak for itself.”

While most people in Rockaway look to carry on the tradition of becoming firefighters or police officers, Bob’s aspirations to be an emcee make him a commodity within the community.

Bob was first introduced to hip hop in the early 90’s by his older brother, Eric. It was artists like Wu Tang, Big Pun, Jay Z, and Biggie that first attracted Bob to hip hop, but he soon began to delve deeper, listening to artists like Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Run DMC, & the Beastie Boys. His love of hip-hop grew into a true understanding and appreciation of the music.

At the age of 14 Bob began working with Kwame, developing a unique sound that would ultimately carve out the musical niche that we hear today in his music. The sound that they have developed is not only influenced by the music Bob listens to (which extends beyond hip-hop to classic rock staples such as the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, the Eagles, etc.), but also by the environment Bob grew up in which is not your typical New York neighborhood. With a predominantly Irish population, Rockaway is often referred to as a college town without the college, where drinking and partying is a way of life.

Chamillionaire Confirms Mixtape Messiah 5, New Album, Talks On New Songs

Fans won't get too long to let this CD marinate, because Mixtape Messiah 5 is coming soon. Chamillionaire has been talking to a slew of DJs — from Drama to Cannon to Whoo Kid — about possibly collaborating with them the next tape.

Then he'll drop his third album."I been working on it for a minute, since The Ultimate Victory," the Grammy winner revealed. "That's crazy, because a lot of my fans think I been on vacation."

Chamillionaire has over 30 records in the can for the still-untitled official project.

"Roll Call Reloaded." "On a couple of the other Mixtape Messiah records, I did a roll call, and it's a fire drill of all the other rappers," he said. "I call it a fire drill because we run down a list of everybody that's hot, and I'm gonna exactly rap their styles just to be creative. I start off with Jeezy, then I do Jim Jones, I do Rich Boy, Game, Jay-Z. I do E-40, Lil' Weezy, Rick Ross. I had to cut the record because I did whole bunch of people. I took a B.G. beat and just repped that. This is just one thing to show creativity."

"Internet Nerd's Revenge." "The online thing is real big right now," Cham said. "Even though I'm dropping this in the streets ... I see rappers online, and it matters what's said online. You go to MTVNews.com and see what they saying on Mixtape Monday. Fans complain about everything. They complain about Weezy when he does right, when he do wrong. Same thing with Kanye and everybody. Me and my boys went to all these Web sites, and we took a whole list of everything everybody said bad about Chamillionaire. I did a rap like I'm the person sitting at the computer typing and saying bad stuff about Chamilllionaire. It's some little kid that's on the Internet. He's young; he's getting all this stuff he's saying about me. His mother comes in and asks him, 'Did you take your medication? Are you on those porno sites again?' I'm rapping like I'm him in his voice."

"Go Hard." "I heard this beat that the Clipse did," Chamillionaire told us. "I don't know what album it's on. I really mess with the Clipse too. I remember saying, 'Who did this beat?' It was just knocking. I told my DJ to send the instrumental and said, 'I'm about to rip this.' No purpose, just a whole bunch of punch lines, bringing a little aggressiveness to the mixtape. People might have seen me in my last video dressed like a white man, they might have got it twisted. We're bringing it back to the streets."

T.I. Not Pleased With Recent Song "S.L.U." Leaking Early

One of the record's stars has some questions of his own: T.I. would like to know how the song leaked. It's one of the premier records from Paper Trail. The album isn't due out until September 30, and the King of the South said the cut wasn't supposed to be debuted so soon.

"That's some bullsh--," a disappointed Tip told MTV News Saturday afternoon (August 23) via phone. "I'm beating down the Internet as we speak."

The MC -- who will perform a song from Paper Trail at the MTV Music Awards on September 7 -- obviously isn't upset with how well "Swagger Like Us" (or "S.L.U.") turned out or even the immediate positive reaction it's gotten. He just had planned on presenting his song properly rather than having it just thrown out there. He said it could have been "that much bigger" if he'd had the chance to roll it out in grand fashion. They leaked my record with me and The Dream ["Like I Do"] too. Leakage is never a problem I have had. I'm not used to it."

"It's been done about a month," he said. "It was a song that Kanye and I had done first; me featuring Kanye. An idea had presented itself -- 'What if we included these people and made it an event record?' -- and I was like, 'That's a very ambitious idea but a lovely one.' "

Soon after, Hov and Weezy submitted verses. Jay liked the song so much that Tip said it will also appear on Jay's The Blueprint 3 album later this year. He did note that Paper Trail is where it will officially be released first.

"Swagger Like Us" was produced by Kanye West and features a sample of M.I.A.'s ubiquitous Paper Planes where she declares "No one on the corner got swagger like us." Kanye, who compares his swagger to singer Mick Jagger, starts off with punchlines aplenty: "I know I got it first/ I'm Christopher Columbus, y'all just the Pilgrims/ How it feel to wake up and be the sh--and the urine?/ Nah-na-na, trying to get that Kobe number, one over Jordan."

Jay follows -- "You can pay for school, but you can't buy class" -- Weezy bats third and Tip is the cleanup hitter. T.I. raps about his real life controversies and how he doesn't worry about other rappers. "Sell a lot of records, I respect it and salute that/ But spitting real life on hot beats, I'm the truth at/ When you kick it like me, no exaggeration necessary."

In addition to the aforementioned trio of guests, Paper Trail has even more A-list guests: Usher has been added to "My Life, Your Entertainment," Rihanna appears on "Living My Life" and Justin Timberlake joins him on "Dead and Gone."

Surprisingly, a Kanye West cameo has been removed from a song on the album: "Sitting on Top of the World," which features B.O.B. from T.I.'s Grand Hustle label.

"Kanye's verse has been swapped," Tip said. "I still have Kanye's verse so maybe we'll do a remix down the line."

I really aint feelin the beat, or the sample. Download this track here

Complex Mag Breaks Down All Of Budden's "Padded Room"

“NOW I LAY”

Producer: Blastah
Quote: “Even when he can’t win, he won’t surrender”
Synopsis: Great intro. Even though the whole “Now I lay me down to sleep,” prayer is kinda cliche, Joe makes it work. Blasta’s beat first starts out with tinkling keys before the blaring horns come charging through. Joey wastes no time and just goes in.

“TOUCH N GO”
Producer: The Klasixs
Quote: “I undress her, throw her on the dresser, normally the girl look like Esther, but if she act up gotta check her, RL Next her, that’s just my regular. ”
Synopsis: Sounds like “Fire 2008″ which isn’t a bad thing. Mad people hate when Joey makes club tracks, but then complain when he only makes emo songs. The Klaixs come through with a beat that’s not cheesy (like “Gangster Party”), but a little on the generic side.

“IF I GOTTA GO”
Producer: The Klasixs
Quote: “I fight to stay alive, every day is work, especially when there’s 6 million ways to get merked.”
Synopsis: The opening wind chime-like sound make you believe this song may actually not be as dark as the title suggests, but this is Joey we’re talking about.

“BLOOD ON THE WALL”
Producer: Moss
Quote: “Don’t worry about me, worry about your Medicaid”
Synopsis: Joey said this track wasn’t even a Prodigy diss track until Jailhouse P came at him. If P didn’t know what a Mood Musik was before, he’ll know when he hears this shit.

“DON’T MAKE ME”
Producer: Blastah
Quote: “If you take live for granted, life will grant you some other shit”
Synopsis: Over what sounds like an 80’s rock sample, Budden talks about fighting his demons and even the angles.

“IN MY SLEEP”
Producer: Blastah
Quote: “My anonymity is my protection, me and hip hop is not connected”
Synopsis: The beat sounds a little like “Flashing Lights”. We all know Joe hates the record industry, but maybe it’s time to move to a different subject?

“OUTCAST”
Producer: Dub B
Quote: “From the school of hard knocks, just trying to make the teacher proud.”
Synopsis: The first Dub B track comes at seven tracks in and it’s one of his best. Over guitar picks and cascading keys, Joe describes, in vivid detail what it feels like to be an outsider in the rap world.

“I COULDN”T HELP IT
Producer: The Klasixs
Quote: “What kinda mom would you be? You already psycho, I wouldn’t let that pass. I wasn’t thinking long term, I was thinking, fat ass.”
Synopsis: One of the hottest tracks on the album. The Klasixs provide a backdrop of haunting voices and swelling strings for Joe to talk about his inability to not creep on his baby mother. Then he goes on to tell us how he fucked some famous rapper’s wife! Unfortunately, we couldn’t figure out who it was upon first listen, though.

“DO TELL”
Producer: Blastah Beats
Quote: “..the stereotypes, I tried ‘em on, they don’t fit me.”
Synopsis: More of the same, a little monotonous in terms of subject matter.

“MY LIFE”
Producer: Dub B
Quote: “My mom says I’m hell bent, when I’m just tryna help with the rent”
Synopsis: Here we have the story of how Joe grew up to be the man he is today over Dub B’s bouncing keys and obtuse synths.

“BETTER ME”
Producer: The Klasix’s
Quote: “Some dudes get complacent, why? They new born birds, they afraid to fly.”
Synopsis: More of that Mood Musik 3 flavor. If you were a fan of MM3, you’ll love this, but it didn’t really stand out among the other tracks on the album.

“JUST TO BE DIFFERENT”
Producer: KidSource
Quote: “They told me, Get in where you fit in, this is what’s in now. I said, Why try to fit in when you a stand out?”
Synopsis: Joe once again going at the industry for trying to force him to conform. A man of principle, that Joe Budden.

“ANGEL IN MY LIFE”
Producer: Blastah
Quote: I ain’t as crazy as I seem to be, it’s just that nothing is what it seems to be.”
Synopsis: This could have been the title track ’cause he’s talking about him being in Padded Room and him telling people that he’s not crazy. Not sure who this Blastah guy is, but he laced Joe on this album.

“PRAY FOR ME”
Producer: Versatile & Dilemma
Quote: “You make mistakes too, as far as I can see, rich niggas winning the lottery is a mockery”
Synopsis: He reprises the old rapper talking to God shtik, but he kills this shit. He takes it one step further than DMX did with God telling him how fucked up of a person he was during his life and him telling the Lord that he ain’t perfect either.

I'm sure there will be more songs added/taken off for the official release, Blastah seems to be the WMS Sultan for this tape. Scroll down for a brand new joe budden song, gotten here first

Chamillionaire Thinks Houston Is Dead

Houston is in a slump to say the least. Widely regarded as hip-hop’s hottest city three years ago, H-Town hasn’t been hitting as of late.

Chamillionaire and Paul Wall, who respectively earned platinum and gold plaques in 2005, both released commercially underwhelming sophomore CDs, while Mike Jones, who kicked started the Houston craze with his single “Still Tippin,” has yet to release his second set.
Slim Thug has also failed to follow-up on his promising debut.

With the city’s stock continually plummeting, its stars plan to destroy and rebuild.

“Everywhere I go people are like, “what happened to Houston” and that’s a problem for me,” Chamillionaire told XXLMag.com.

“I could be one of these people that only cared about myself and be like, ‘I’m just gon get it.

Forget everybody else in Houston,’ but I’m not like that.”

“I feel like it makes me look weak if everywhere I’m going, they’re saying everybody in Texas just fell off,” he continued.

“The only person holding us down is Bun B. When you get kicked and you’re down on the ground, how do you dust yourself up?

And I feel like Texas is at that moment right now. I know people gon get mad at me, but maybe they’re right, maybe Texas is dead, cause we’re always everywhere saying we’re holding it down, but everywhere I go, they telling us we’re not.

I wanna help everybody else and help motivate and tell them look, man we need to get off our you know whats, get out there and get it, cause I feel like we’re not grinding the way we used to.”

Slim agrees with Cham, suggesting H-town needs a fresh crop of Houston MCs to breath new life into the city.

“I think we definitely need new rappers in Houston,” Slim hinted.

“I’m doing what I can as far as my end of the bargain. I’m trying to keep the movement going with mine, but we definitely need other labels and other artists to step up, man.”
