Hello readers, this is the author of this site K-TO and I've come with some bad news.. As of Today the site will no longer be updated. Yes ItsHipHop.Blogspot.Com will be no more. I have to move on in life, But I aint mad.

This isn't a spur of the moment thing either, I've made the decision and I will stand by it. I simply don't have the time. I got teenager-life, school, a job, and so on, I don't wanna sound like a little girl but I put in easily 2-3 hours of work a day into this site and it seems nothing has been paying off, hits have been slipping, and it feels like I'm talking to a brick wall all the time..

It is a sad moment for me since I've tried hard for this site, updating every single day since I started back on August 05, but everything must come to an end. That doesn't mean you will never see me blogging again it's just the responsibilities with running a site by yourself feel like a constant burden.

Sorry for the short notice guys. I will leave this message up for a week or so then shut it down completely.

All the extra aside, Ross is spitting on all the Deeper Than Rap records that have leaked so far. The album is sounding like it will definitely be one of the premier offerings of 2009. "On Top of the World" came out Friday, and a week before that, he dropped "Cigar Music."

" 'Cigar Music,' that song is, after you release a song like 'Mafia Music,' it's like playing chess," he said. "Once you clean the table, once you make your moves, once you're satisfied with your result, once you understand the opponent, at some point you gotta sit back and fire up your cigar. That's what I did that record for. It's the calm after the storm. It's timeless music and a preview to let than fans know how much my music has matured. Shout-out to Bink [who produced the track]. I think it's a record that can be appreciated by people who really love clean music."

Deeper Than Rap has guest spots from Nas, Mary J. Blige and Lil Wayne, and last week on "106 & Park," Kanye West revealed he will be featured on "Maybach Music 2."

Queens, NY rapper N.O.R.E. was arrested on Sunday (Feb. 22) and charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct following an incident in a Miami, Fl. Fatburger.

According to the Associated Press, Noreaga was taken to the Miami-Dade county jail after police say he got into an altercation with an unidentified man. During the exchange, Nore reportedly ripped up flowers in the restaurant and threw a beverage on the victim before punching him in the face while screaming, “ Do you know who I am?”

He was released yesterday shortly after being charged.

Update: Only hours after news spread that he was arrested, Nore took to his twitter account to clarify a few things, stating: “Seriously though, I am not a man for negative behavior, at lease not now n my career and in my life. I will not comment on the incident cause I can’t wait for someone like Angela Yee or DJ Vlad to ask me a questions. lol. But, there were no flowers involved. Repeat- no flowers involved. But fat burger has veggie burgers with wheat bread and also has fries. They have none meat products. God damn!”

The rapper, who makes up one half of rap group C-N-N, recently returned home from a European tour with partner in rhyme Capone. Their new album, Channel 10 - the duo’s first album together in nine years - is set to hit stores on March 17.

I recently caught up with an upcoming producer most notably known for handling a good chunk of Joe Budden's sophomore album "Padded Room" and we managed to squeeze in a quick interview. So check it out!

ItsHipHop: For everyone out there, who are you and where are you from?

Blastah Beatz: I go by the name of Blastah Beatz and I'm a beatmaker from Portugal, Europe.

ItsHipHop: How did you get into making beats? And at what age?

Blastah Beatz: When I was 14 my cousin suggested I should try and learn to do something since I was so much into Hip Hop. He introduced me to a sound engineer who taught me how to use some programs. I took his advice and teachings and started to make beats. I've only been taking it seriously since 2006 though.

ItsHipHop: What kind of equipment do you use?

Blastah Beatz: I only use software to produce: FruityLoops3, Cool Edit 2.0 and Reason 3.0.

ItsHipHop: How would you describe your "sound"?

Blastah Beatz: That's hard to describe, but I like to keep it real with the drums and bass and I rarely, if ever, use synths. The sample stays lo-fi and overcompressed for the most part. I'm heavily influenced by that 90's East Coast boom-bap and that's one of the reasons why some modern listeners don't like my style, but MC's love it. I always try to experiment with 80's music, soundtracks, classical music and other styles to vary my sound but soulful beats is my main thing.

ItsHipHop: Who are your influences as a producer?

Blastah Beatz: A lot of different styles of music influence me, but as far as Hip Hop, The RZA and DJ Premier influence me the most. Also Pete Rock, Alchemist, 9th Wonder and Madlib to name others.

ItsHipHop: Where do you draw your inspiration from when you make a beat?

Blastah Beatz: It's all in the sample. The mood I'm in at the moment will determine which type of music I'm sampling but the sample automatically tells me what to do.

ItsHipHop: What other artists have you worked with?

Blastah Beatz: In the last 2 years I produced tracks for and featuring artists such as Busta Rhymes, Papoose, Del the Funky Homosapien, Cappadonna, J-Hood, Murs, Tragedy Khadafi, Big Lou and Ruste Juxx, just to name a few.

ItsHipHop: Now as we get closer to the release of Padded Room in which you produced the majority of How did you meet Joe?

Blastah Beatz: I remember Joe was taking beat submissions when he started the album, it was late 2007. I sent some beats in, they liked what they heard and we took it from there: shouts to my dude Killa BH.

ItsHipHop: Was the relationship over the net or did you actually meet Joe in the studio?

Blastah Beatz: Considering that I live in Portugal I never met any of the artists I worked with in the studio. That takes away quality from my tracks but I don't mind really, I'm glad to be where I'm at right now.

ItsHipHop: What can we expect from you in the future.

Blastah Beatz: I'm currently working on my producer album, mixtape and instrumental project. Also working with lots of different artists on their own albums: got to keep it moving!!

ItsHipHop: Thanks again for your time and is there anything you want to say to the fans out there?

Blastah Beatz: No problem, my pleasure. Say peace to them all and to stick with me 'cause I'm evolving every day.

Torae & Marco Polo Sign Deal With Duck Down Records, New Album Collab Coming

Continuing to add to its growing roster of artists, Duck Down Records welcomes Torae & Marco Polo to the Duck Down Family. The MC/Producer team is prepping a new album entitled "Double Barrel," which will be entirely produced by Marco Polo and is set to be released this Spring.

Marco Polo states he "was getting tired of Rappers not rapping anymore. Double Barrel sounds like some exciting shit you turn up LOUD and get amped to. Good fighting music, training music, driving music, killing music."

In speaking on his "Double Barrel album, Torae says that "Marco and I wanted to collaborate on a project, so we decided to record everything together in the studio and give each other feedback and constructive criticism to make the best possible LP. We felt there was definitely a lane open and a void for certain fans; fans like us that missed authentic boom bap, gritty, NYC rap. So that's what we set out to make."

Torae goes on to describe the album as "definitely not like anything that's come out of NY in the last few years. It's more inspired by the music that we liked to listen to coming up. Black Moon, Gang Starr, ONYX, Smif N Wessun, M.O.P., and artists like that. The beats hit hard and are really gritty. My delivery is more aggressive and in your face. It's a colder more abrasive album than what's out there right now. It's just what the heads are complaining isn't available."

On the decision to sign with Duck Down, Torae continues, "it's the perfect move because of the history of the label. They've put out a lot of the artists that inspired us to create music in the first place. They know how to reach our core fan base and cater to the people that love the music and the culture we represent. It was a no brainer to drop "Double Barrel" on Duck Down."

Dru Ha, Co-Owner of Duck Down Records is "excited to secure the deal, as we tried to make a deal for Marco's Port Authority release but missed out. Marco has been consistently contributing quality production to many of Duck Downs’s recent releases so our core fans are familiar with his level of work. Kanye West Claims To Have Made "Best Beat Ever"

Kanye West has always been one to make big claims, but he may have made one of his biggest claims ever over the weekend. Recently, Kanye discussed his production on the highly anticipated album The Blueprint 3 with Sway and King Tech of the "Wake Up Show," stating that the album is close to completion and he's only three or four tracks away from wrapping up the album.

"I finished [Jay-Z's] album and he released four songs that were potentially gonna be on the album...So I gotta go back and do four," Kanye told Sway and King Tech.

He then went on to explain that one of the beats he created for The Blueprint 3 is "one of the best hip-hop beats of all time."

"I just did one beat the other day in Hawaii—probably one of the best hip-hop beats of all time, if I do say so myself. I just gotta do three more beats and we're done, 'cause he's got classics," Kanye explained. "He's got songs that are better than any of the things you've heard leaked."

As of now there is still no set released date for The Blueprint 3. About a month ago it was reported that Jay-Z would be taking his time with the album.

Confirmed tracks for The Blueprint 3 include "Brooklyn (We Go Hard)" and, according to Kanye "Everyday a Star is Born" and "Forever Young" will more than likely also be added to the album.

Hhmm.. The man also claims he's a great singer lol, kidding but that just makes me want to hear Blueprint 3 even more.

He revealed how Joe Budden related to him the same feelings. “Joe was like, ‘People don’t realize how hard this is, even with rappers who are known for doing this, you kinda gotta bring your A game because anything less that your A game, it's not going to be good enough.’”

Being friends with both Budden and Saigon, Nino was literally caught in between the two during a recent feud on record.

“It was really tough for me, because at the time I was talking to both of them, seriously. I would be on the phone with Joe, and Sai would be on the other line, not just once, or even twice, like multiple times, and vice versa.” By being in the middle, Nino saw how the beef almost never blew up.

“The beef was actually squashed two weeks ago shortly after Sai released his second diss ["Pushin Buddens"] [click to listen]. Shit was kept quiet, and I pretty much had it set up to where I was getting Joe and Saigon on a song. Everything was set up until certain things were said and the shit took off again,” said Nino.

As for the battle itself he believes, "They are both grown men about it, but its personal when they go at you so hard so long and after a while, they can say things lyrically that can get under your skin. I’m sure every one has their breaking point, when you think it's more than just meaningless words.”

Despite all the negativity Nino saw some positive in the battle. If anything each rapper showed the world how vicious they can be. “They are both beast and I think after this battle both of them might have scared away anybody who was thinking of going at them lyrically. Well, Joe been had that rep already, but I think Saigon in a sense just earned his,” he said.

The beef controversy kept coming for Nino last year as a couple stray shots fired on a few songs led to a rumored song feud with Termanology [click to read].

Nino cleared the issue up saying, “It is not a sparring match to me, I said a line on ‘Slaughterhouse Remix’ which can be interpreted either way, and I cleared that up. He actually called me and we spoke about it and everything was done but then ‘Hate in Ya Blood’ came out, I said a line about Statik, because Statik, when the whole Slaughterhouse crew was there [the Shade 45 radio station] except for me, he took my verse off then he said, ‘Oops record skipped.’ So when he took my verse off ‘Slaughterhouse’ I didn’t get emotional, I was just like, ‘Wow that lets me know you're not fucking with me.’”

Many people thought ‘Hate in Ya Blood’ was shots at Statik and Termanology, but Nino explained the meaning. “The whole ‘Hate in Ya Blood’ is just me going in on some rhyming shit it is not a diss at anybody. I even say it is not a diss to Statik after the line, but I'm not going to sit here and be told by somebody that they don't fuck with me live on air and not respond. So if you don't fuck with me, I don't fuck with you.”

Funny dude, On another note Maino's album has been pushed back yet again.

Brooklyn rapper Maino’s upcoming Atlantic Records debut has been pushed back yet again.

The album, If Tommorrow Comes…was originally supposed to drop last year but was later pushed to this month and then March. It is now slated for a May release date.

The disc will include Maino’s hit single “Hi Hater” as well as his latest single “All The Above” which was produced by Just Blaze and features T-Pain. Along with Blaze, Swizz Beatz and Dangerous LLC have also been tapped to provide beats for the project.

In related news the BK MC has released his first book on his new company Hustle Hard publishing. Gangsta’s Don’t Die, which was written by Mouse, will come out on March 1 and is available on Amazon.com.

"Crack a Bottle" Now # 1 Song In America

Looks like Eminen, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent have made history once again, as their collaboration “Crack a Bottle” has jumped 78 spots to no. 1 on the Billboard Top 100 charts.

Billboard reports that when the sales figures are posted tomorrow, the song will officially make the history books. According to the Nielsen SoundScan the single has been downloaded a record-breaking 418,000 times in its opening week.

“Crack a Bottle” beats out T.I. and Rihanna’s “Live Your Life” which took the title in October with 335,000 downloads.

During a recent interview, Fif revealed that the track will be included on his upcoming album Before I Self Destruct.

I think this is ridiculous. I honestly think this song is garbage, It doesn't even have a video, don't get me wrong I'm a big Em fan but this is pretty sad. It's crazy what record labels can do nowadays.

While he didn’t win a Grammy award for his last album – the controversial concept disc originally titled “Nigger” - Nas is currently in the studio with Damian “Junior Gong” Marley cooking up a follow-up project.

In an interview with MTV News the Queens-bred rapper seemed very excited about his collaboration with the son to Reggae legend Bob Marley. “Right now, I’ll tell you first, I’m working on an album with Damian Marley, and we tryin’ to build some schools in Africa with this one, and trying to build empowerment,” he revealed. “We’re tryin’ to show love and stuff with this album. So, the record’s … all about really the ‘hood and Africa also as well. That’s coming out real soon.”

Esco says the CD may come out sometime in Spring but there is no official release date as of yet.
This isn’t the first time the two have teamed up. Nas appeared on “Road To Zion” off Marley’s 2005 album, Welcome To Jamrock.

In related news the rapper is preparing for the birth of his first child with his wife, singer Kelis. Nas has one daughter, Destiny, with his ex-girlfriend Carmen Bryan.– Elan Mancin
