Missy Elliot Album Pushed Back

Missy Elliott is still in the studio wrapping up her seventh studio album, "Block Party". The album previously scheduled for a September release, has been pushed back.

The first official single "Best Best" was released last month. It's a hot up tempo track produced by Danja. A video for the track is expected to be released soon.

Rolling Stone reported the album will feature "fun-for-the-club" beats, though Elliott tells that she and Timbaland are "trying different stuff, just going in blind and hoping that people will be with it."

Elliott told Entertainment Weekly that she and Timbaland are "always gonna take it as far left as possible without losing people or having them thinking we're on drugs." Production on the project will be supplied by Souldiggaz, Danjahandz, Pharrell, T-Pain, Pointguard, The Arkitects and Timbaland.

Atlantic Records is looking at a Thanksgiving release for the album, but a specific date has yet to be confirmed.
