"VIBE has today announced Eminem as the winner of the Best Rapper Alive competition. The Detroit native beat out New York’s rap king Jay-Z in the Final Round with 69 percent of the votes, crowning him as the people’s choice for the true king of hip hop. The results of the contest are detailed in VIBE’s November 2008 issue hitting newsstands October 21st. “It’s obviously an honor to have won the fans’ support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive,” says Eminem in response to his victory. “I don’t think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe’s offering the distinction, hell yeah I’ll accept!”
More than 920,000 votes were cast since the contest began on July 21, 2008"Even though he hasn't dropped material in like 4 years he gets voted the BEST rapper ALIVE award??? I'm not knocking his skill, I'm just saying...

no ones ever had better lyrics than eminem, at least since his prime, even in 06 no apologies was an amazing song lyrically
