Poor Young Berg, his life is one huge publicity stunt gone horribly wrong, just recently he was under fire for the infamous "I don't like dark butts" statement, got his ass wooped, his gigantic Transformer chain jacked in a night club, and now gets kufi smacked by Maino. Maino was on Hot 93.7’s Jenny Boom Boom earlier today and confirmed the slapping.“He was a little disrespectful so I had to clean him up a little bit, you know, just give him a little togetherness,” Maino revealed. “This kid is a little boy to me and I like him. We've been on tour all summer together, I like him. He put me on his remix but I don’t know what his problem was last night.”
“I had seen him earlier in the day and we performed at the same concert and for some reason at the club he approached me and said 'Ayo, I heard you was talking reckless about me'. I said 'What?’ He said 'Yeah, I heard you were talking reckless about me.’ So his body language and his mannerisms lead me to believe he was being disrespectful to me, so I slapped him,” explained Maino.
“He didn't come to me asking a question, he was like stepping to me. If you got a question for me, ask me in a way that we can talk about it. Don't approach me like it's a problem,” Maino continued. “I did a little bit of God's work, I tried to discipline him.”
“I’m a man before anything so if I’m at a club and somebody approach me in a disrespectful manner, what are you supposed to do? I don't know how to handle it any other kind of way. I feel like I just gave him something light,” Maino added. “When you think about what could have happened...I'm around 20 people in my area and he came up to me asking me was I talking about him recklessly. I had no idea what he was talking about. I felt like I did him a favor. I tried to sober him up because something was wrong with him.”
“I still like him,” Maino stressed. “He kept his jewelry, everything is cool! Things could have been worse for him. Now you think about what happened last night and you think about what happened to him in Detroit, now you understand why he got beat up and his chain took. I still like this kid. I just feel he headed in the wrong direction. He got the wrong people around him. You don't walk up to a man like that unless you already have intentions of it going somewhere. If you put me on defense, I’m gonna react that’s just how I am.”
“I don’t have a problem with Yung Berg. I smacked him. I’m done with that,” Maino emphasized. “I'm not gonna make a song about him, I’m not gonna make a YouTube video about him, there is no problem. It is what it is. Shout out to his people for apologizing. Apology accepted. You should not address people in that kind of manner. That’s all.”
