Katt Williams Arrested On Gun Charges

First it was the BET Awards. Now funny man Katt Williams almost missed a scheduled appearance at Carnegie Hall after being arrested on a gun charge in New York on Thursday.

According to the New York City Police Department, Williams and six others were taken into custody around 1:45 on Thursday morning after a police search of two vehicles turned up three guns.

An NYPD spokesman said that the police saw the two cars parked on the corner of West 28th Street and Broadway. One of the cars, a Cadillac Escalade, had no license plate. Two patrolling officers approached the vehicles and a subsequent inspection uncovered a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, a 9 mm Taurus, and a .45 caliber Glock.

Williams was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a handgun, Despite the arrest Williams was able to post bail and make it to the scheduled gig.
