Interscope Reveals Why Detox Is Still Not Out

Interscope head honcho Jimmy Iovine recently stepped up to the plate to explain why the highly anticipated release of Dr. Dre's Detox has been delayed (once again).

Iovine revealed that Detox was going to drop later this year, but Eminem's "comeback" caused them to put the brakes on Dre's project, says Billboard.

"We only tried to put Em out this year to replace Dr. Dre, but we got into a quagmire," Iovine told Billboard. "Eminem was always coming next year. But what happened was, I lost Dr. Dre to Eminem."

According to Iovine, there swap was nothing personal, but attributed it to Em's rapid fire recording.

"Dre had to stop making his album to finish Eminem's album," Iovine added. "Eminem hit a streak, and when a guy like Eminem gets on fire, you stop everything. That's how we lost Dre."

Although he opted not to give an exact release date, Iovine did say that both artist's albums were coming soon.

"Dre's going back in in January," Iovine continued. "He'll be finished with Eminem by then, and he'll finish his album."

Personally I'd enjoy an Eminem album over a Dre's.
