2009 is looking bright for newcomer Wale. The Washington, D.C. native has already recorded several songs with production duo Cool & Dre and recently hooked up with one unlikely artist for his debut album.
Last weekend, the “rapper with a conscience” hit a New York studio with pop star Lady GaGa for an unspecified collaboration. The “Nike Boots” MC and “Just Dance” songstress are label mates at Interscope Records.
While details of their recording were not available, the 24-year-old did tell Rap-Up.com, “I just try to have a lot of subject and a lot of content in the music. I feel like one of the most important things is to have content and to truly be saying something.”

If you happen to spot a rubber duckie floating in the ocean, NASA would really appreciate it if you give them a call. They're missing about 90 of them and want them back.
The rubber duckies were tossed into a hole in Greenland's ice three months ago as a way to track how the polar icecap is melting. So far, however, they haven't seen signs of any of them. So now they're hoping that sailors, fisherman and cruise passengers will keep their eyes peeled for them. For the first one that's recovered, NASA is offering up a measly $100 reward. But hey, that's $100 more than you had before, you crusty old arctic fisherman. And it's for science.

"What you will soon discover about the Back To The Feature Mixtape is that not only do we have ridiculous features on there, but 9th took your favorite rapper’s favorite songs that you probably didn’t even know had samples in it and flipped them. Man I am almost anticipating this as much as I am Wale’s album."This is just a taste of what the official cover may be like, great to see that this project is still in the works. Possibly the first song off the mixtape is Wale feat. Skyzoo - 5 Minutes.

Think about every negative stereotype that you've ever heard in regards to hip hop music. Now, imagine, what would a rapper be like, if he were the exact opposite of those stereotypes. He'd be a brilliant and intelligent lyricist who expressed himself with unique and thought provoking concept songs. He'd also be a positive and uplifting rapper, while at the same time displaying the harsh realities of the world. Oh, and he'd also be able to bar for bar with your favorite rapper.
An hip hop artist such as this didn't exist, until 2005 when 'Tha Advakit' picked up a mic. Born and raised in Chicago and currently residing in the south suburbs, 'Tha Advakit' has had the opportunity to view the world from two completely different perspectives. Because of his upbringing, 'Tha Advakit' is able to connect with a wider audience than most rappers. Whether they be rich, middle class, poor, black, white, brown or yellow, man or woman. An ARTIST moreso than a rapper, 'Tha Advakit' seeks to paint a vivid picture lyrically with every song he completes.
He describes himself as a activist/teacher with the skills of an exceptional emcee who seeks to encourage his listeners to think outside the box, while still remaining versatile behind the mic. At the fork in the road, 'Tha Advakit' was the artist that took the path no one else dared to, and his music is a testament to what he has experienced (and still is) while traveling along that road. Untitled (no Nas) mixtape coming soon...
Rapper Saigon speaks about why he left Atlantic Records, "Rappers are raising your kids, boys are wearing skin tight pants" and that he's embarrassed about what Hip Hop has become.
"Really, I'm on my own and I'm searching, and finally he comes to me. I don't know where he's been, and he comes back to me. It's very timeless, When you see it, it's nothing like anything you'd see now. I want to be iconic in every music video that I do. I want to make a mark. This is very different." The video is expected to be premiered in late December.
